Adventurer Packing List

Core Items:
(Items below are available for rent at REI in Denver or other outfitters)

Backpack (65+ liters is recommended - Make sure your gear fits in your pack if you go smaller)
Sleeping Pad
Sleeping Bag (Recommend a down sleeping bag that is at least a 30 degree bag, go colder if you get cold at night.  Night temperatures are at 38-50 degrees)

Extras:

Toiletries (toilet paper, feminine products, deodorant, biodegradable soap, baby wipes, tooth brush, and paste)
Self Aid Kit
Whistle
Bottle or camel pack
At least 20 ounces
Lip Balm
Sunglasses
Bandana
Sunscreen
Insect Repellent

Clothes (non-cotton):

fleece leggings - so you can wear under your pants if needed
hiking pants
shorts
Short sleeve
Long sleeve
Fleece Jacket
Rain Jacket
Gloves for warmth and working with sticks
Beanie Hat
Scarf/ neck warmer
Sunshade Hat
Pair of Hiking socks (one per day)
1 extra pair of wool socks
Hiking Boots or Hiking Shoes suitable to the mountain terrain

Alternative (not required):

Pillow - Make sure fits in your pack
Binoculars
Camera
Phone
Gaiters (if weather is expected to be bad)
Backup battery charger
GPS - However, I teach only map and compass and not depending on electronics

Food:

We would like a conversation with you regarding food.  There are no stores near Spirit Forest so food will need to be well planned out.  All your food will be provided by you, we can give you ideas of what to plan.
